welcome! it's great. each day yiyun will post and you can build on that or just give your own thoughts/impressions as you read. some post everyday, others less. then on dec 3, there will be a zoom to bring us all together for a talk by yiyun and the editor in chief of a public space, brigid hughes. a big highlight.

Could someone point me to a tutorial on how to use Substack in the way we need to use it for Quixote? I knew how to use Twitter/X but Substack is new to me!

“There are no birds this year in last year’s nests”. A nice exchange. In the arts as opposed to the sciences, is beauty, even without meaning enough? I believe so.

Chapter titles , each of which seems to set out to answer a specific question are an interesting mechanism. It reinforces that the narrator is going to be fully in control of our journey with a definite path in mind. Like a trip to IKEA.

I have missed these communal readings. Thank you Yiyun Li and APS for bringing us all together again.

"Father Quixote had the unfortunate habit of a lonely man: he spoke his thoughts aloud." Or maybe this is what daily horsemeat steak consumption will do to you.
